The Dales are Adopting Again!!

Meet Daniela (not her real name), she is a beautiful young woman that Jonathan and I met while picking up Elias in Ukraine. We had some down time waiting for Irina to do paperwork inside the orphanage, so we were sitting on the steps outside watching the kids play their own version of wheelchair soccer.

Eventually I got up the nerve to see if they would let us join in, they happily agreed and boy did we get our butts kicked! (lol) We had such a good time and man did this young lady make an impression on us. She is smart, sassy, energetic and extremely compassionate with her fellow orphanages brothers & Sisters. We have wanted to go back to get her since the day we left.

After we completed our last adoption we spent the first 6 months getting our two newest kids healthy, then said goodbye to our son Aiden in July 2019, and then worked on getting Elias even more medical interventions to maintain his health which eventually led a trach/ventilator in November 2019. We planned on jumping in sooner and quietly announced it but the year 2020 left everyone quite unsure about what was going to come of the pandemic, economy and again Elias’s health so fear stalled us from fully committing.

We knew our girl was going to “age out” in November of 2020 ( you cannot start an adoption after their 16th birthday) and we just couldn’t give up on the hope that one day the Sun, Moon & Stars would align to open up our path to her, so we applied for an immigrant adoption in October 2020 and bought ourselves 1 YEARS TIME to get an approved home study into immigration. This is quite literally her very last chance to ever be in a forever family.

Two weeks ago GOD placed on my heart a reminder that we did/have felt so strongly that this girl could be ours and that it was my own fear holding us back. He quietly reminded me in a still small voice that he set me on this path two years ago and that “I was avoiding it… why? Did I not trust in HIM anymore?”  Needless to say I have had to repent for my lack of faith!

WE ARE JUMPING IN 100% COMMITTED to completing this adoption! We have till October 1st, 2021 to submit our home study to immigration. That will be our greatest challenge as last time our Social worker took 10 months to complete it. We ask any of you who will to PLEASE keep us in your prayers during the next few months. I firmly believe in miracles as I have experienced mountains being moved before.
